And the winner is ...

And that’s a wrap! After a two-week voting period, the virtual polling station closed at midnight on 14 December and the winners of the first ELH art competition "ARTifact - Imaging MRI" have been determined.
The three winning entries are (regardless of the actual ranking in the top 3):
Hippocampal Moon by Khazar Ahmadi, whose artwork connects the hippocampus, which is responsible for spatial navigation, to seafaring, in which the constellations were used to find the safest passages.
What Did She Feel? by Stephanie Antons, who explored the question of how the feelings of Leonardo da Vinci's famous Mona Lisa could be visualised.
Leaves of Thought by Greta Wippich, Alice Doubliez and Enzo Nio, in which the human nervous system is illustrated by comparing it to a tree.
All entries can be viewed on our website here.
All winners have already been notified. Once again, we would like to thank all participants and for the lively participation in the voting, as well as the many positive responses we received from numerous sources.
We hope that we can repeat this competition to bring art and science together.
Until then - happy holidays and a happy new year!
